![]() The 1934 “S/42K” rifles produced by Mauser Oberndorf established the standard for all German military K98k Mauser rifles.(See photos) The blueing on this rifle is near-perfect and it fires with pinpoint accuracy (I have never needed a scope). Mauser would supply the blueprints and the tooling, gauges to other manufacturers and receive a royalty for each. The “K” date Mauser K98k had a solid walnut stock with a flat milled buttplate on it. The last two digits of the serial number should appear on most of the smaller parts.
